ZiTechnologies ("we", "us", "our") operates ZiRide. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
We collect: (a) account information such as your name, email address, and password (stored securely and never in plain text); (b) ride information such as pickup and destination locations, ride history, and timestamps; (c) device information such as browser type and app version, used for diagnostics.
We use your information to: provide and improve the ZiRide service, match riders with drivers, process ride requests, communicate with you about your account or trips, and maintain the safety and security of the platform.
Account and ride data is stored using Firebase (a Google Cloud service), which acts as our data processor. Firebase applies industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit. Access to your data within ZiTechnologies is restricted to personnel who need it to operate the service.
We share the minimum necessary trip information (pickup/destination, rider name) with the Driver assigned to your ride, so the trip can be completed. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Under the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw consent to processing where applicable. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
We retain account and ride data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as required for legal, tax, or safety record-keeping purposes.
ZiRide is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the App.
